Audience research
1. Who will buy your product?
Young adults or unemployed students who listen to bands such as Arctic monkeys, Kasabian, etc..
2. What media do they use most often?
They tend to get there news online but have a screen break and gather information about the bands they like by reading magazines.
3. Are they predominately Male or Female?
They will be predominately male but will also be a tiny percentage of females
4. What’s the general attitude towards the product?
They enjoy buying the magazines and reading the information inside. Also enjoy collecting them and having a large collection
5. Age group?
Age range from 16-20
6. Education level?
Quite sophisticated language aimed mainly at students and unemployed graduates
7. What are their spending habits?
Due to my magazine aiming at people ranging from 16-20 years of age they will not have much money however may have a part time job with the money they would usually spend on clothes or activities
8. What are their product needs?
They will expect a lot of interviews of artists within this genre, upcoming artists, information on album releases, gig venue dates, etc...
9. What are the reader’s lifestyle indicators?
Preferably living at home or renting a flat/home, still in education and receiving ‘pocket money’, driving or learning to drive, paying university funds.
10. Geographical location?
Mainly situated in large cities such as Birmingham and London, also found in smaller cities like Sheffield and Yorkshire

Segmentation of Target audience
There is 3 segments when it comes to target audience; Geographic,
Demographic and Psychographic
Geographic is to do with the area of which the audience lives in for example the region, the size of the area or the climate. Whereas Demographic is to do with the basic information about a person or the audience. Mainly focusing on The age, Ethnicity, gender, family size, generation (boomers, generation X) and also things like income education or social class. Finally Psychographic is to do with the lifestyle of the audience the way the life, how they live it, there personality, values, interests etc..

Research of Magazines within my Genre
NME Magazine:
The New
Musical Express a weekly magazine, better known as NME first created by Theodore
Smythson in 1952 is an Indie/alternative styled magazine, however has drawn the
attention to hip hop, electronic and experimental over the last decade

Audience range of 15-34, with Male readers being the predominant with 66% and
female readers being 34%
An online version of NME, NME.com, was launched in 1996. It is now the world's biggest standalone music site, with over 7 million users per month.
Every year NME host an award ceremony. NME Awards is an awards show held every year to celebrate the best new music of the past year. The nominations and eventual winners are voted for by the readers of the magazine.
Also every Year they hold a venue across the UK called the NME tour where new and upcoming bands come together to play a venue and advertise their music

Mojo Magazine:
MOJO is a popular music magazine published initially by Emap and since January 2008 by Bauer, monthly in the United Kingdom. Following the success of the magazine Q, publishers Emap were looking for a title which would cater for the interest in classic rock music.
MOJO’s audience range of 30+, with the majority males with 73.1% and female readers with 26.9%
MOJO was first published on 15 October 1993; in keeping with its classic rock aesthetic, the first issue had Bob Dylan and John Lennon as its first cover stars.
The company behind the magazine, Bauer, also produced a digital radio station this station was called Mojo Radio, and was transmitted on the digital television networks in the UK

I have a good understanding of features and key focus points to do with cover pages and content pages, this is showing progression in my learning and will help produce the best quality finish for my final magazine. However do not have a full understanding of every key term and must learn the definitions and effects each one gives, in order to give the best finish and grade
